Rolling for Teamfight Tactics champions is a core gameplay system that helps you get the desired units from the TFT champion pool. That’s precisely why you need a detailed understanding of the rolling mechanic.
Some of the basics are relatively simple. For instance, spending your resources on developing units and taking control of the board is often the best course of action. But deciding when to level and when to roll isn’t as straightforward. Without the numbers, it’s pure guesswork.
Leveling system changes for TFT Set 11 Inkborn Fables 14.10
XP required to level was changed at levels eight and nine through Set 11 Patch 14.9, while shop odds were adjusted at levels eight and nine. The changes from Level eight to nine were designed to shift the meta away from a focus on four-cost champions, allowing reroll strategies with two and three-cost units to succeed within the Inkborn Fables meta as well. Four-cost champions are still viable in the 14.10 meta, while reroll builds have drastically improved.
- Level two to three: XP is two
- Level three to four: XP is six
- Level four to five: XP is 10
- Level five to six: XP is 20
- Level six to seven: XP is 36
- Level seven to eight: XP is 48
- Level eight to nine: XP increased from 72 to 80 (Patch 14.9)
- Level nine to 10: XP reduced from 84 to 80 (Patch 14.9)
The increase in XP from Level eight to nine was targeted at four-cost strategies, reducing the amount of three-star four-cost champions in the meta.
Player damage in TFT Set 11 Patch 14.10
Patch 14.9 also adjusted player damage per Stage from 0/2/5/7/9/11/17/150 to 0/2/5/8/10/12/17/150. Surviving enemy damage is plus one for every enemy champion that survived combat that round. The increase in damage at each Stage makes it harder to hit level Nine without either a win or loss streak and/or Econ Augments.
Players typically roll at Stages 3-2, 4-1, and 5-1, with variety built into that standard based on win/loss streaks, economy, and power levels of a Teamfight Tactics lobby.
How many of each champion are in the TFT Set 11 pool?
With every set release, Riot Games releases a chart detailing everything we need to know about the champion pool set, including drop rates by tier and level. There are a total of 59 champions in TFT Set 11.
- Tier one (13 champions): 22 of each champion in the pool
- Tier two (13 champions): 20 of each champion in the pool
- Tier three (12 champions): 17 of each champion in the pool
- Tier four (12 champions): 10 of each champion in the pool
- Tier five (nine champions): Nine of each champion in the pool
The number of TFT champions within a pool is important when rerolling. Players attempting to reroll a four-cost unit, for example, must grab nine out of the 10 in the pool to successfully craft a three-star tier-four champion.
If a player dies, the champions on their board and bench will return to the pool.
What are TFT shop odds rolling chances in Set 11 Patch 14.10?
The rolling odds of a champion showing up in the TFT shop are based on the number of champions within a set. The chart below helps players determine when to level up and when to roll down for a stronger board. Set 11 boosted level seven to make it easier to reroll for a three-cost unit. Four-cost three-stars were too prevalent in the Inkborn Fables meta, resulting in changes to Levels eight and nine through Patch 14.9.
One-cost | Two-cost | Three-cost | Four-cost | Five-cost | |
Pool size | 22 | 20 | 17 | 10 | NIne |

What rolling odds were changed in TFT Set 11?
The champion pool was reduced in size in Set 10 but returned to standard numbers for TFT Set 11. The loot distribution system was adjusted through Patch 14.5, the final update for Set 10, and a Spatula is less likely to show up on a Carousel during Inkborn Fables.
As for the TFT rolling odds, levels seven and eight were adjusted to encourage reroll strategies for three-cost champions. Patch 14.8 adjusted the rolling odds for level seven, slightly reducing the percentage of seeing a four-cost in the shop, while additional changes were applied through TFT Set 11 Patch 14.9 to deter four-cost dominant strategies.
